Here’s my latest animation with clouds, and water, and with a free HDRI cloud background on the last part. Rendered in Mental Ray with Composite, and Adobe After Effects.
I deleted and re-created new light effects.

Using Blender’s cloud script add-on, I can easily create different clouds effect; the only problem is, it can’t render in Cycles (duh). Anyway, Blender Internal is a great renderer though it lack in a some way, and I noticed that the more lights you add in a scene, the longer it will render.
Here’s the samples rendered in Blender Internal.
I used the exr file for color and additional lights.

After watching the movie ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’, I got interested again on the Enterprise. A long time ago I downloaded Dennis Bailey’s Refit Enterprise Version 2 Mesh (Rel 8-27-2005) — the original link is not working anymore (http://stblender.iindigo3d.com) . The file is Blender that was converted by Eric Clark.

From Blender to Maya, I deleted the original lights from Blender, replaced, added new lights, star background (credit: NASA) in Maya for depth effect. Fixed missing polygons.
And here’s my render in Mental Ray.
