I’m testing the new Quarkxpress 10 on Mac Os 10.9. Somehow I’m at lost with these new features, and new problems of course. The first thing I noticed is the ‘Undo’ and ‘Redo’ is not working. Apple’s Mavericks new system also conflicts with the other softwares I’m working. Anyway, I unchecked the warning triangles in the “System preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts. Then, restart the Quark application, and the ‘Undo’, ‘Redo’ works like a charm.

Gimp is a free and open source software for photo retouching, editing, etc.., though it took me a while to learn this program, and some of the brushes are much cooler than Photoshop.

Anyway, here’s the sample:

Just a test of the different brushes in Gimp. It's like an editorial cartoon I created--about the plight of non-resident workers in the CNMI.

System: Mac OS X ver 10.4.11
It all started when a client gave me a pdf file to change some wordings created by their in-house artist. The problem is, I can’t open it unless I know the password. I asked the client but the artist is not available, grrrr :(. Oh well, search…, search my hard drive, browse the web…time is running out..

eureka! It’s Mac OS X’ ColorSync.

Open the file and save as. That’s it! Now I can edit this pdf file.
