The shrine (proposal) was modeled in Blender, import to Modo and added additional objects (trees, people, etc.).

First, I rendered this in Blender Internal but the flickering shadows are everywhere, and Cycles…nahhhh, it’ll take me days or weeks in my slowwww machine. I finished this animation in less than 3 days using the Modo renderer.

Flag animation in Modo using soft and static rigid body in Dynamics.

Modeled and rendered in Modo.
I’m testing the soft body in Modo’s Dynamics.

Using the Make Anchors is a way to hold the soft body (flag) to a passive body (pole) by selecting the outer vertices of both.

Here’s the animation:

A sample mug modeling from a noob. I’ve been using extrude most of the time from Maya and Blender, but a different approach in Modo.

My strawberry file modeled from Maya, import and rendered in Modo with Antialiasing of 32 samples with depth of field (4minutes on iMac 2013, 1280×720).

I noticed that the texture’s png transparency isn’t automatic after uv-mapped, it should be enabled by right clicking the effect in the shader using RGBA of Special Effects.

In Modo, the default feature for png’s alpha can only be seen on one side unlike other 3D programs–Maya and Blender–that I use. To enable, see the picture below.

A simple geometry and Modo’s mesh, and plants added on how the illumination works at the background.

A sample animation:

Here’s a sample animation from the default Modo renderer. I use instances, motion blur, depth of field, slow motion, bounce physics on the plane and an anti-alias of 16 samples-rendered 9 hours for the iMac 2013 model (though I’m doing my usual work at the background).
